It is present in the way a child enters the classroom, occupies space, sits, breathes, moves, encounters a difficulty, seeks the attention of others, or tries to regain their own. It is present in the agitation before a test, in the struggle to stay seated for long periods, in the enthusiasm of a shared activity, and in the difficulty of finding one&#8217;s place within the group.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1814\" data-end=\"2091\"><strong data-start=\"1817\" data-end=\"1844\">Educational Yoga at school<\/strong> starts precisely from this presence and from a fundamental question: <strong data-start=\"1909\" data-end=\"2091\">how can we support children and teenagers in knowing themselves better, regulating their energy, and relating to others without separating body, mind, and emotions?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2766\">Educational Yoga proposes a path in which <strong data-start=\"2141\" data-end=\"2213\">movement, breath, listening, play, asana, imagination, and relationship<\/strong> are not isolated activities, but experiences that gain meaning when they are connected with educational intentionality. The goal is not to achieve perfect postures, nor to transform a lively class into a constantly silent group. Rather, the aim is to create conditions in which everyone can <strong data-start=\"2536\" data-end=\"2689\">perceive what is happening within themselves, recognize their limits, meet others with respect, and participate in the group more consciously<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section Its roots are yogic, but its educational identity stems from the meeting of multiple dimensions: <strong data-start=\"3385\" data-end=\"3494\">school, pedagogy, psychomotricity, educational work, family experience, Meiso Shiatsu, and Action Research<\/strong>. It is not, therefore, a matter of taking a yoga lesson designed for adults and simply making it shorter or more playful.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3619\" data-end=\"4057\">A practice acquires educational value when the person proposing it knows <strong data-start=\"3682\" data-end=\"3710\">why they are proposing it<\/strong>, observes how the group experiences it, and is willing to modify it when age, context, or the people present require something different. It is precisely this ability to connect <strong data-start=\"3893\" data-end=\"3932\">purpose, experience, and observation<\/strong> that distinguishes an educational path from a simple succession of pleasant activities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4059\" data-end=\"4295\">Educational Yoga considers the person in their entirety and connects dimensions that are often separated in daily life: <strong data-start=\"4206\" data-end=\"4294\">gesture and thought, energy and stillness, individual experience and relationship with others<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-0d960d6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"0d960d6\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-1f3190f\" data-id=\"1f3190f\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c7d12da elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"c7d12da\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Bringing Educational Yoga to school does not mean \"doing adult yoga with children\"<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2db713e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2db713e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"4386\" data-end=\"4667\">Children and teenagers have different rhythms, languages, needs, and forms of participation than adults. They need to <strong data-start=\"4519\" data-end=\"4585\">move, play, imagine, try, choose, collaborate<\/strong>, encounter a rule, and also have moments in which to listen to what they feel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4669\" data-end=\"5178\">For this reason, in <strong data-start=\"4687\" data-end=\"4716\">yoga for children at school<\/strong>, movement is not simply the fun part that precedes the &#8220;serious&#8221; moment of practice. Running, changing direction, supporting one&#8217;s own weight, seeking balance, coordinating with a partner, or stopping after an intense activity are all experiences through which the child can <strong data-start=\"5017\" data-end=\"5139\">know the qualities of their own body, encounter its limits, and learn to progressively modulate their energy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5180\" data-end=\"5403\">Motor competence thus does not become a ranking of who is more flexible, stronger, or more capable. The body is not used to prove something to others, but as a <strong data-start=\"5359\" data-end=\"5402\">tool for knowledge and experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-d13907f elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"d13907f\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-9b36f18\" data-id=\"9b36f18\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa36c3c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"aa36c3c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Movement and stillness are not opposites<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e9dc25b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e9dc25b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"5445\" data-end=\"5543\">One of the central aspects of <strong data-start=\"5478\" data-end=\"5505\">Educational Yoga at school<\/strong> is the relationship between movement and stillness.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5545\" data-end=\"5790\">Often, in educational language, movement is associated with agitation while staying still is interpreted as a synonym for attention. But a child does not automatically become more aware because they are ordered not to move.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5792\" data-end=\"5894\">Movement can instead be the necessary transition to reach a different quality of presence. After running, playing, or experiencing a physical sequence, the child can feel more clearly <strong data-start=\"6005\" data-end=\"6109\">the beating heart, the changing breath, the heat of the body, tension, and subsequent recovery<\/strong>. In this way, even the breath stops being something to &#8220;do well&#8221; and becomes an experience to observe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6223\" data-end=\"6342\">The primary skill is therefore not to immediately achieve calm or control, but to <strong data-start=\"6302\" data-end=\"6341\">notice what is happening<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-d7ba47c elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"d7ba47c\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-44e57a4\" data-id=\"44e57a4\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-77c137c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"77c137c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Breath as an experience of listening<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7bd2629 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7bd2629\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"6386\" data-end=\"6465\">The <strong data-start=\"6395\" data-end=\"6427\">breath in Educational Yoga<\/strong> is also proposed from this perspective.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6467\" data-end=\"6729\">It is not a technique to be used automatically every time a child is agitated, and it is not a performance in which one must breathe deeper or slower than others. Instead, it can become <strong data-start=\"6674\" data-end=\"6728\">a point of observation of the present condition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6731\" data-end=\"6924\">After movement, for example, the breath may be faster. After a few minutes, it may change.
